UNANIMA International’s governance structure is based on our values. Coalition Members and staff work together to achieve our mission. Information is shared in a circular fashion to ensure all Members, Staff, Directors and Regional Focal Points can articulate and share their experience and learnings from both the Grassroots and the United Nations. This governance structure also allows feedback on issues and means of addressing these issues to be discussed, explored and implemented at both levels.
Each Coalition Partner elects a Director to sit on the Board of Directors. They are the focal point between the Coalition Member communities and the New York City office. As well as sitting on the Board, Directors actively participate in subcommittees relevant to the working of UNANIMA International. There are five executive positions, and they are voted on once a year. They are: President (Ces Martin, NDS), Vice President (Nonata de Aguiar Bezerra, SND) , Treasurer (Cathy Sheehan, DW), Secretary (Tracy Abler, representative of CSA) and Member at Large (Lourdes Varguez Garcia, RJM).
