Sustainable Development

During the week of 28 February through March 4, the preparatory group for the Commission on Sustainable development will be meeting along with the CSW. This meeting will be preparing governments for the policy work to take place at the 2-13 May 2011 of the Commission itself.  Its themes for this cycle are transport, waste management, chemicals, mining and the ten year programme on sustainable patterns of consumption and production. The session will conclude with the draft negotiating document that will be basis for negotiations during the main session of CSD-19 in May.

Of particular interest to UNANIMA are the sessions on mining, changing patterns of consumption and production and the cross-cutting theme of water.

NOTE: UNANIMA members interested in attending the commission in May should contact Catherine for information on registering by the end of March.
