Support the Farm Workers!

CIWThree representatives of UNANIMA International (Sisters Celia Martin, Michele Morek, and Kathleen Ries) marched in New York City on May 18 with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers to support the Fair Food Program, and to pressure Wendy’s restaurants to sign on to pay just one penny more per pound of tomatoes—to support fairer wages and working conditions for the migrant workers in the southern part of the USA. (All of the other big fast-food chains have signed on). The 2012 UNANIMA Woman of Courage, Nely Rodriguez, was honored for her leadership in the Immokalee workers movement.
