Sorry! We Spoke Too Fast

In the last issue we bragged on Canada’s anti-trafficking progress. Louise Dionne of CATHII updated the situation as follows: Though Bill C-36 (Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act) was adopted by the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, in September it must be reported to the House of Commons, and it may undergo additional changes before the final adoption. The members of CATHII are not so pleased with the bill as it stands because it still penalized women, especially those in the street. More information about the status of Bill C-36 can be found at
