- Idalina Barion CCV sends word that on October 17 some of the sisters in Brazil were going to demonstrate against the auction of Brazilian oil—the government wants to privatize a large oil deposit. The citizens think that the money belongs to Brazilians, and that it should be used for public health and education.
- Would anyone want to be part of an African network? Cova Orejas CCV has agreed to start things off as a contact person there. She was the contact person for Africa in organizing a Child Rights Monitoring Workshop held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in late October. It was followed by a forum on the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of Children.
