Ireland and Kenya Have a New Job

The United Nations has appointed ambassadors from Ireland (David Donohue) and Kenya (probably Macharia Kamau) to lead international negotiations for the coming year on a new global development agenda to succeed the Millennium Development Goals. The President of the UN General Assembly asked Ireland and Kenya to co-facilitate the negotiations which will lead to a new set of global development goals for adoption at a Summit of world leaders in New York in September 2015. What relation exactly does this have to do with the High Level Political Forum and the structures already in place to deal with the Sustainable Development Goals? We don’t know but will let you know! UNANIMA board member Jean Quinn DW alerted us to this.
