Happy Easter and Spring!
You didn’t know that the United Nations has its own cherry trees? They were a gift from the people of Japan, and really brighten our days as we hurry over to meetings. Winter is finally gone, and it was a long, hard one— there are remnants of winter in our hearts as we feel with the mothers of the Nigerian girls and our sisters who live in countries controlled by terrorist groups and ethnic warfare.
But with all of you, we celebrate new life and the continuation of our Easter season. As you know, the UNANIMA staff are always looking for an excuse to celebrate!
In May we celebrated progress in the Open Working Group’s slow move toward the development of a set of Sustainable Development Goals, and the two-week gathering of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous People.
