www.prostitutionresearch.com  Prostitution Research & Education is a non-profit corporation, which develops research and educational programs to document the experiences of people in prostitution. The purpose is to abolish the institution of prostitution while at the same time advocating for alternatives to prostitution - including emotional and physical healthcare for women in prostitution. It gives voice to prostituted/trafficked women and children. by documenting their perspectives through research, public education, and arts projects.  Good on quick facts and FAQs plus lots of research.

www.catwinternational.org The Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW) is a non-governmental organization that promotes women's human rights by working internationally to combat sexual exploitation in all its forms. Founded in 1988, CATW was the first international non-governmental organization to focus on human trafficking, especially sex trafficking of women and girls. CATW obtained Caegory II Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in 1989.  site in 9 languages.

www.coatnet.org  site of NETwork of Christian Organisations Against Trafficking in human beings, under umbrella of Caritas Europa.  Aims to develop a network and tools to allow the transfer of information, mutual support and operational partnership across borders.  Links to European legislation in progress and what is going on in European Union as well as different European countries

www.setallfree.net  site of project established by Churches Together in England to commemorate the bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade in 2007 in ways which challenge modern society to engage with Christian values.  Promotes theological reflection on redemption, justice, reconciliation and reparation and links historical slavery with modern forms of slavery such as bonded labour, people and sex trafficking and migrant working.  Good source for Bible studies, worship materials and ideas for school assemblies

www.eaves4women.co.uk  The POPPY Project, funded by the Home Office and the Association of Local Government (ALG) , provides support and housing to women who have been trafficked into prostitution. POPPY combines direct services, support and advocacy with research, development and lobbying. This allows the project to bridge the gaps between theory, practice and the need to influence strategy. Has a list of FAQs on trafficking and prostitution in UK and is a good site for discovering what is going on in United Kingdom in the way of research and action.  POPPY is in the process of setting up a resource library to include literature around prostitution and trafficking. This will not be a loans library, but can be used on request for reference purposes. www.ecpat.net  ECPAT is an international network of organisations working together to eradicate child prostitution and pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes.  Source of up-to-date news stories worldwide and links to ECPAT sites in individual countries, also other organisations which work for children.

www.humantrafficking.org  The purpose of this Web site is to bring Government and NGOs in the East Asia and Pacific together to cooperate and learn from each other’s experiences in their efforts to combat human trafficking. This Web site has country-specific information such as national laws and action plans and contact information on useful governmental agencies. It also has a description of NGO activities in different countries and their contact information.

www.slavebritain.org.uk  Worth visiting to take a virtual reality tour of photographic exhibition in London which documents the everyday lives and locations of those caught up in trafficking in Britain today.  Powerful photographs and human interest stories.

www.unicef.org.uk  Short articles on child trafficking and good interactive map with individual stories, suitable for use with older children.

www.childtrafficking.org  Hosted by the Unicef Innocenti Research Center.  Dedicated to data collection, knowledge transfer and the development of methodologies related to research on child trafficking.  Intended for international researchers, policy makers and operational personnel engaged in countering child trafficking activities.  Large search engine and source of documents, particularly on SE Asia.

www.worldvision.org  World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.  Strong on child sex tourism prevention campaign, particularly from American angle.

www.afesip.org  AFESIP exists to combat trafficking in women and children for sex slavery; to care for and rehabilitate those rescued from sex slavery; to provide occupational skills and to reintegrate those rescued into the community in a sustainable and innovative manner. AFESIP also seeks to combat the causes and effects of trafficking and sex slavery through outreach work in AIDS prevention; through advocacy and campaigning; through representation and participation in women’s issues at national, regional and international forums. www.chaste.org.uk  CHASTE (Churches Alert to Sex Trafficking Across Europe) is a charity in Britain which actively works for the global eradication of trafficking for sexual exploitation, the provision of practical care and support for those who have been trafficked, and the suppression of demand which drives the supply of women and the girl child into the sex markets of Europe.

www.crimereduction.gov.uk  this report from England provides a summary of the many responses to the public consultation paper Paying the Price and sets out the British government’s proposals for a coordinated prostitution strategy.  The strategy focuses on disrupting the sex market by preventing individuals, and particularly children and young people, from being drawn into prostitution, by providing appropriate protection and routes out for those already involving; by protecting communities from the nuisance associated with prostitution; and by ensuring that those who control, coerce or abuse those in prostitution are brought to justice.
