UNANIMA International is a NGO (nongovernmental organization) committed to work for justice at the international level in harmony with the charter of the United Nations for the economic and social advancement of all peoples.

History

The coalition was founded in 2002 by representatives from seven congregations of women religious with a vision that by our united action we can make a difference in our world.

By working collaboratively we promote a world united for peace and human dignity

  • where the rights of women and children receive the same respect as those of men;

  • where justice and respect for international law protect immigrants and refugees;

  • where all people care for and protect our planet.

As of September 2007, UNANIMA International has grown as large as it will to include 16 congregations whose members have expertise as educators, health care providers, social workers and development workers.

Together we now have more than 17,000 members in 65 countries on all continents.
